On January 13^th 2023, Shanghai Hytekocean Co. Ltd., Guilin Wuzhou Tourism Co., Ltd. [Stock Code 833176], Guangxi New Energy Ship Battery Engineering Research Center signed a Framework Agreement to launch the "Hydrogen Ship Project” on Guilin River. 

Guilin Wuzhou Tourism Co., Ltd. is the leading enterprise of ship industry in Guilin, and it also plays a core part in the new energy transformation of ships on Guilin River. Guilin Wuzhou Tourism is very active in developing hydrogen energy ships and actively cooperates with hydrogen industrial chain partners of hydrogen production, storage and fuel cell.

Hytekocean will cooperates with Guilin Wuzhou Tourism Co., Ltd. and related partners to provide hydrogen fuel cell and technology support for the project. Hytekocean also plans to invest plant in Guilin.

Technical support for this project is also provided by the Material Electrochemistry Team from Guangxi Normal University, which was selected as the "High-level Innovation Team of Guangxi Universities" in 2014, and Professor Qingyu Li, the team leader, is the honor winner of "Outstanding Scholar".

On September 27th 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Ministry of Transport jointly issued the “Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Green and Intelligent Development of Inland River Ships”, which sets the development goals for inland river by 2025: to achieve breakthrough development in green power key technologies such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), batteries, methanol and hydrogen fuel cell. There are 115,000 ships on inland river in China, which is a huge market of new energy transformation.

The meeting will be a "milestone", marking that the state-owned enterprises in Guilin actively respond to the national energy strategy and formally starts the hydrogen energy industry and its application. At the same time, relying on Guilin's unique resource advantages, they will probably take the lead in realizing the commercial application of hydrogen energy ships in inland river tourism scenarios.
